Hillary Clinton and the Worship of Power

Right Wing News : Christopher Hitchens.

"Hillary is the next president, he told radio's Hugh Hewitt, because, 'there's something horrible and undefeatable about people who have no life except the worship of power . . . people who don't want the meeting to end, the people who just are unstoppable, who only have one focus, no humanity, no character, nothing but the worship of money and power. They win in the end.'"

Whither Osama?

An excellent look at the possibilities, well thought out and rational.

By Jon Caruthers

That's the $25 million question, isn't it? For six years now, pundits, bloggers, media vetted 'experts,' politicians, columnists, and all sorts, kinds, and flavors of prognosticators have weighed in on the subject with the general consensus being that he's just on the Pakistani side of the Tora Bora mountains in the federally administrated tribal areas (FATA). After giving the US military the slip in late 2001, Osama and company have seemingly disappeared into the ether, reconstituting periodically to give the metaphorical digit to the American people and giving the left more ammunition to fire at the Bush administration. Although the question seems largely to have been settled in the media, taking a fresh look at the question of our age is instructive for understanding more about Al Qaeda and specifically why we've not seen another attack on American soil."

Our Tax System Explained: "Bar Stool Economics"

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten
comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go
something like this:

The first four men (The poorest) would pay nothing.

The fifth would pay $1.

The sixth would pay $3.

The seventh would pay $7.

The eighth would pay $12.

The ninth would pay $18.

The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the
arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. "Since you are all
such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily
beer by $20." Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the
first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.

But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they
divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?' They
realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from
everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up
being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be
fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded
to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).

The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).

The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to
drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare
their savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20,"declared the sixth man. He pointed to
the tenth man," but he got $10!" "Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth
man. "I only saved a dollar, too It's unfair that he got ten times more than
I!" "That's true!!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back
when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!" "Wait a minute,"
yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get anything at all. The
system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down
and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they
discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of
them for even half of the bill!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, journalists and college professors, is how
our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most
benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being
wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start
drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

Palestinian Militants Hail Massacre at Jerusalem Seminary

FOXNews.com -

"'This heroic attack in Jerusalem is a normal response
to the crimes of the occupier and its murder of civilians,'
Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said.

Hamas stopped just short of claiming responsibility for the Jerusalem shootings.
'We bless the operation. It will not be the last,'
Hamas said in a statement sent to reporters by text message."

I love dogs but you know when they arrest people for dog fighting and they bring out the pit bulls?
And they have to put the animals down because there is no way that they could ever reenter society, they could never be around other dogs anymore. These damaged animals are disposed of. I don't know why I thought of that just know but anyway, food for thought.

Has anyone noticed a war may be breaking out?

Colombia takes more heat from Latin America left | Reuters: "By Fiona Ortiz

CARACAS (Reuters) - Latin America's leftist leaders heaped more criticism on Colombia, leaving it increasingly isolated on Thursday in a crisis that has threatened political stability in the Andes.

Colombia, the United States' closest ally in South America, set off a major diplomatic crisis on Saturday when its army crossed into Ecuador to kill Colombian Marxist guerrillas just across the border."

Venezuela has begun mobilizing its forces by air, land and sea in a dispute with Columbia, the Venezuelan defense minister said Wednesday.

This move escalates a regional crisis, and according to The Associated Press, the movement of troops near the Columbia-Venezuela border is mostly completed.

Columbia, similarly, has also deployed thousands of troops to the border.

The conflict was reportedly escalated when Columbia found a set of documents discovered on a slain rebel leader’s laptop. The South American country claims the documents prove that leftist guerrillas and Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez are linked.

Ecuador, according to MSNBC.com, has rejected a Colombian apology for the cross-border strike and is attempting to rally opposition during an emergency meeting of the Organization of American States in Washington.

President Bush Tuesday supported Columbia and accused Chavez of “provocative maneuvers.”

Clinton scores 3 wins; McCain clinches - Yahoo! News

"WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton scored three victories in a night of revival that denied Barack Obama a ripe opportunity to drive her from the Democratic presidential race. Clarity came only to the Republican side, where John McCain made the nomination his own."

The soap Opera continues! It will get bloody now.
Hillary will beat up Obama which is good because
McCain does not have the balls to do it!
