Obama on Judges
Protecting the Powerless?
Here is Senator Obama describing what he will look for in a judge if elected president:
[W]hat I do want is a judge who is sympathetic enough to those who are on the outside, those who are vulnerable, those who are powerless, those who can't have access to political power and as a consequence can't protect themselves from being being dealt with sometimes unfairly, that the courts become a refuge for justice. That's been its historic role. That was its role in Brown v Board of Education.
Except for unborn babies, of course.
Those, you can kill with impunity (even after they're born).
UPDATE (Dan McLaughlin): San Diego Union-Tribune cartoonist Steve Breen made this same point with a cartoon worth a thousand words during the Alito hearings:
Hillary's Nuclear Option
Most pundits are telling Senator Hillary Clinton that it's all over but the shouting. The math is against her. However, the math is also currently against Senator Obama -- neither candidate can earn the needed majority in the remaining primaries. The decision will be made by the Democrats' superdelegates, who are not obligated to decide whom they support until the convention. And they are empowered to change their allegiance at any time, based on their "read" of what's best for the party.
This means that until the first ballot in Denver in August, Hillary still has a chance.
Conventional wisdom among those who pretend to know why Senator Clinton is hanging in there say she's waiting -- and hoping for -- an Obama scandal that will make Reverend Wright look like a footnote.
Green: The New Color of Catastrophe
Malaria deaths in Africa, wildfires in the West, and now food riots in Haiti all demonstrate that "going green" can have some very serious downsides.
Is there an advert on TV that doesn’t claim the product or company involved is “doing its best for the planet” or something like that? I feel like I’m drowning in a sea of green every time a program goes to a commercial break. Yet the recent stories of food riots all over the world and wildfires in California should remind us that there’s a downside to environmentalism — a pretty big downside. It’s a downside I explore in my new book, The Really Inconvenient Truths: Seven Environmental Catastrophes Liberals Don’t Want You to Know About — Because They Helped Cause Them.
The problem is the way liberal environmentalists work to achieve their policy aims. It’s based on a model that goes back to 1962, when Rachel Carson wrote Silent Spring.

Ahmadinejad: Israel a 'stinking corpse'
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that the state of Israel is a "stinking corpse" that is destined to disappear, the French news agency AFP reported.
"Those who think they can revive the stinking corpse of the usurping and fake Israeli regime by throwing a birthday party are seriously mistaken," the official IRNA news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as having said.
"Today the reason for the Zionist regime's existence is questioned, and this regime is on its way to annihilation."
Ahmadinejad further stated that Israel "has reached the end like a dead rat after being slapped by the Lebanese" - referring to the Second Lebanon War in the summer of 2006.

Iranian Nukes = The End of the World as We Know It
If Iran is allowed to build a nuclear weapon, it will destroy the last vestiges of the nonproliferation framework and signal the collapse of an American-led global order.
May 7, 2008 - by Gordon G. Chang
Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, announced at the end of last month that the United States was preparing for “potential military courses of action” against Iranian forces. “It would be a mistake,” he noted, “to think that we are out of combat capability.”
Many, however, would say the real mistake is to think the Bush administration is really contemplating military action. “It is time to admit the truth,” Charles Krauthammer recently wrote. “The Bush administration’s attempt to halt Iran’s nuclear program has failed.” Dubya still has more than eight months left in the White House, but most everyone is ready to close the book on the obviously exhausted president.
Obama's Boss Stomps on the Flag

While Obama rightly claims to have been eight years old when William Ayers was planting bombs at the State Department and the U.S. Capitol, Obama was working for Ayers when this photo was made.
A poem By Barack
So lets look a little deeper.
They say that poetry is a window to the soul,
So here is a poem written
by Barack Obama
In 1981, Barack Obama published two poems in the journal Feast…
Pop
Sitting in his seat, a seat broad and broken
In, sprinkled with ashes,
Pop switches channels, takes another
Shot of Seagrams, neat, and asks
What to do with me, a green young man
Who fails to consider the
Flim and flam of the world, since
Things have been easy for me;
I stare hard at his face, a stare
That deflects off his brow;
I’m sure he’s unaware of his
Dark, watery eyes, that
Glance in different directions,
And his slow, unwelcome twitches,
Fail to pass.
I listen, nod,
Listen, open, till I cling to his pale,
Beige T-shirt, yelling,
Yelling in his ears, that hang
With heavy lobes, but he’s still telling
His joke, so I ask why
He’s so unhappy, to which he replies…
But I don’t care anymore, cause
He took too damn long, and from
Under my seat, I pull out the
Mirror I’ve been saving; I’m laughing,
Laughing loud, the blood rushing from his face
To mine, as he grows small,
A spot in my brain, something
That may be squeezed out, like a
Watermelon seed between
Two fingers.
Pop takes another shot, neat,
Points out the same amber
Stain on his shorts that I’ve got on mine, and
Makes me smell his smell, coming
From me; he switches channels, recites an old poem
He wrote before his mother died,
Stands, shouts, and asks
For a hug, as I shink [sic], my
Arms barely reaching around
His thick, oily neck, and his broad back; ‘cause
I see my face, framed within
Pop’s black-framed glasses

Hunger link
America’s first mandatory policy to reduce global warming emissions is its biofuels mandate. … At the beginning of the decade, Al Gore said that “by tripling U.S. use of bioenergy and bioproducts by 2010, we can keep millions of tons of greenhouse gases out of the air….”
…
Thanks to the 2007 energy bill signed into law by President Bush last December, it is occurring even faster than Gore imagined. The U.S. is now required to mix 9 billion gallons of such fuels into the gasoline supply in 2008, up from less than 3 billion gallons in 2000.
Around the world people are starving due to higher food prices and Congress is just now beginning to realize the connection between their global warming policies and misery around the world. Heritage scholar Ben Lieberman explains the link:

Three Presidential Candidates, Three Weird Approaches to Economic Policy
I’m going to let you in on a secret you may not have heard yet: The price of gasoline has been rising.
And since it’s a Presidential election, this is populist gold. Each of the candidates has proposed something to do about it. Of course, the high price of fuel is a complex phenomenon with a lot of causes, very few of which are responsive to policy. So the candidates are stuck talking about the thing that government actually can affect: the level of Federal taxation.
Their responses are distinct, and illuminating.
Let’s start with Senator McCain, who kicked off the gas-tax derby a few weeks ago in Pittsburgh, with his proposal for a Federal gas-tax “holiday” over the summer months. Sounds great, feels good, doesn’t do a whole lot of anything permanent, and certainly does nothing to alter the underlying market dynamics.

Aren’t Fuel Prices High Enough!?!?
Take Action now to put the brakes on higher energy taxes! How are we supposed to afford to take our kids to school and get to work when the liberals in Congress slap even more taxes on our fuel costs?
Raising taxes on domestic energy production hits Americans as energy consumers, but liberals in Congress are also going to raid your 401(k) and pension funds, which are heavily invested in energy companies. There's no right time for new taxes. But now is especially a bad time with the economy running on fumes under the heat of the mortgage meltdown. The bad news doesn't stop there. The new energy taxes would even further reduce our nation's energy security and tilt the competitive playing field for global energy resources against the United States and toward our foreign competitors. New energy taxes? No thanks.
Tell your Senator and Representative to fight the liberal energy tax-hike agenda in Congress!
Hillary Vs O'Rielly

When asked if she was a socialist she said "Was Teddy Roosevelt?"
"No, He was a great American."
Well, Yes! He was a Socialist/Fascist!
The Guru behind Roosevelt's New Nationalism was Herbert Croly the founder of the New republic.
In his book "The promise of American Life." he made these fascist points.
* The need to mobilize society like an army
* Call for a 'spiritual' rebirth
* the need for great revolutionary leaders
* reliance on manufactured, unifying, national myths
* a contempt for parliamentary democracy
* Non-Marxist socialism
* Nationalism
* The need to make politics into a religion
* Hostility to individualism
This was Teddy and is what Hillary believes.
So the answer is yes! Hillary is a socialist/ fascist.

Chaos over Paul cuts short gathering
After a super-majority of Ron Paul supporters captured control of the Republican state convention Saturday, state party officials abruptly canceled the event without electing delegates to the national convention.
Early in the day, state delegates supporting Paul's continued pursuit of the Republican nomination voted through a rules change that forced the state party to abandon its preset ballot of potential national convention delegates and open up the race to the rest of the state delegates.
The vote followed a rousing speech by Paul of Texas, who said his presidential campaign will continue as long as he has support.
But as the convention continued into the evening, chairman Bob Beers said the party's contract for the hall at the Peppermill Resort Casino had expired and the event would be rescheduled.
Clinton blasts Bush for not stopping a project her husband approved
INDIANAPOLIS — It's a story Hillary Clinton loves to tell, about how the Chinese government bought a good American company in Indiana, laid off all its workers and moved its critical defense technology work to China.
What Clinton never tells in the oft-repeated tale is the role prominent Democrats played in selling the company and its technology to the Chinese. She never mentions that big-time Democratic contributor George Soros helped put together the deal to sell the company, or that the sale was approved by the administration of her husband.
"Hillary Clinton must have been hoping we Hoosiers have short memories," Ed Dixon of Valparaiso said in a letter to a local newspaper after a recent Clinton visit. "Her husband was president at the time and allowed this to happen."
And it's a story with a dramatic, political ending. Republican President George W. Bush could have stopped it, but didn't.

Dukakis: It's Probably Obama in '08, But the Campaign Needs to Improve
The Massachusetts Democratic primary, along with nearly two dozen other primaries and caucuses, was held on Feb. 5. Hillary Clinton won it by 15 points, one of her best showings anywhere this year, and Michael Dukakis voted in it—but he won’t say for whom.
“If Obama wins both of those states on the sixth of May, I don’t see how as a practical matter he doesn’t have it,” Mr. Dukakis, who officially clinched the Democratic nomination in June 1988, said in an interview this week.

Michael Rubin on Turkey
This is scary stuff. Please read the entire article, its chilling.
"Few U.S. policymakers have heard of Fethullah Gülen, perhaps Turkey’s most prominent theologian and political thinker. Self-exiled for more than a decade, Gülen lives a reclusive life outside Philadelphia, Pa. Within months, however, he may be as much a household a name in the United States as is Ayatollah Khomeini, a man who was as obscure to most Americans up until his triumphant return to Iran almost 30 years ago."

Three Things To Think About
1. Cows
2. The Constitution
3. The Ten Commandments
Cows: Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that our government can track a cow born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she sleeps in the state of Washington? And, then track her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give them all a cow.
The Constitution: They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it's worked for over 200 years and we're not using it anymore.
The Ten Commandments: The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a courthouse is that you can't post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal,' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians -- it creates a hostile work environment."
American Thinker: Obama: Silence in the face of evil
is always on the side of the aggressor."
- Elie Wiesel
Barack Obama, the eloquent speaker who mesmerizes the media, the man whose orations make women swoon, the candidate who promises to embrace dictators and terrorists in conversation, falls strangely silent when his words are needed to stand up against evil, intolerance or injustice. In a dangerous world with evil regimes aspiring to destroy the United States and the values we represent, the silence of an American President would be an
unthinkable disaster."

Trade Angst
"Suppose you were choosing a country to live in. Which country would you prefer: a country that has the world champing at the bit to put its money into or one where the world is unwilling to invest? Let's look at the numbers."
The United States is the world's largest recipient of foreign direct investment. According the Economic Report of the President, in 2004, foreigners owned $5.5 trillion in U.S. assets and had $2.3 trillion in sales. They produced $515 billion of goods and services, accounting for 5.7 percent of total U.S. private output, and employed 5.1 million workers, or 4.7 percent of the U.S. workforce in 2004. According to the Congressional Research Service, in 2006 alone, foreign investors spent $184 billion investing in U.S. businesses and real estate, the highest amount foreign investors have spent since 2000. My question to Clinton, Obama and the anti-trade lobby is, would Americans be better off if there were no foreign investment in our country?

liberals think your stupid
Here is the beginning of the contempt liberals feel for the average American.
In Wilson's essay "Leaders of men" he explained that the "true leader" uses the masses like "tools". He must not traffic in subleties and nuance, as literary men do. Rather, he must speak to stir the passions, not their intellects. In short, he must be a skillful demagogue.
"Only a very gross substance of concrete conception can make any impression on the minds of the masses," Wilson wrote. "They must get their ideas very absolutely put, and are much readier to receive a half truth which they can promptly understand than a whole truth which has too many sides to be seen all at once."
From Jonah Goldberg's "Liberal Fascism" a must read.
Carter is completely insane
He is dangerous to himself and all of us by giving legitimacy to Hamas.
Just like when he said "The lives of the hostages is the most important thing."
back in 80. He has given aid and comfort to terrorists and continues to muck things up.

The Advancing Iranian Nuclear Program

Townhall.com::By Charles Krauthammer: "WASHINGTON -- On Tuesday, Iran announced it was installing 6,000 more centrifuges -- they produce enriched uranium, the key ingredient of a nuclear weapon -- in addition to the 3,000 already operating. The world yawned.
It is time to admit the truth: The Bush administration's attempt to halt Iran's nuclear program has failed. Utterly. The latest round of U.N. Security Council sanctions, which took a year to achieve, is comically weak. It represents the end of the sanctions road."

American Thinker: Re-traumatizing blacks to serve the Left
American Thinker:
"Keeping people on the boil makes for very powerful group politics, which is why demagogues and tyrannical regimes do it all over the world. But there is an awful cost when individuals or groups remain in turmoil over wrongs that lie in the past.
Dr. Condoleeza Rice's life story warms the hearts of many because she demonstrates the triumph of an individual over adversity in her own life. Yet our SecState vividly recalls traumatic memories of the infamous 1963 black church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama."
An eye opener
When psychiatrists try to help trauma victims, sometimes years after the event, they always need to tread a careful line. On the one hand, someone who can't let go of the past may need to reconsider those old experiences. On the other hand, by constantly dwelling on the past it is all too easy to re-traumatize people, to scratch those old wounds so that they start bleeding all over again. Ethical therapists know about the danger of re-traumatizing people. They constantly try to avoid making things worse.
American Thinker:
Dear Abby
I am a 60-year-old woman who is married to a man who acts like he hates me. In public, he pretends he loves me and talks about how wonderful I am. But in private, he shakes his finger in my face and calls me the 'B' word. He constantly tells me how ugly I am without make-up. I've tried everything, including a face-lift, botox treatments, and a chin tuck. I even went on a diet and lost 20 pounds.
He quit his job a few years ago after having an affair with a woman in his office. He hasn't even looked for another job. We haven't slept together since I confronted him about the affair. He denied it, of course, but everybody knew it. It was humiliating. I believe he is stil l messing around.
While we both want to sell this house, we argue constantly about when to put it on the market. The house we want will be available in a few months. Freedom of religion
Freedom of speech
The right to peaceably assemble.
The right to petition the government
The right to keep and bear arms
The right to be free of unreasonable searches and seizures
Protection from double jeopardy

A speedy and public trial by jury
The right to legal counsel when charged with a crime
With one exception, the right to representation in court and a trial by jury, these rights require nothing of any other citizen but that they recognize your rights and not interfere with them.

Just some Hillary quotes I came accross
| “ | I have to say that this is something that I have followed for a decade. If he [Saddam] were serious about disarming, he would have been much more forthcoming. There may be progress, we may be destroying his missiles, there is no accounting for the chemical and biological stocks.[8] | ” |
Hillary Clinton further described the situation after weapons inspectors we're expelled during the time when America had two in the position of presidential leadership, "for the price of one."[9]
| “ | In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.[10] |
